Bulky items are delivered via courier or royal mail signed for delivery and normally take 2-3 days on in-stock items.

Bike packaging

All bikes ordered for delivery to the Channel Islands and Isle of Man are assembled and inspected by our mechanics prior to repacking for dispatch. Due to size restrictions of our courier services we repackage the bike in the original factory box, rather than the custom oversized bike box we use for our mainland UK deliveries.

VAT & GST

VAT will be charged on all goods (except exempt goods) at the UK prevailing rate.

Returns

If you wish to return an item that is unsuitable or not required you will be liable for the return delivery. If you wish to then try a different size or style, delivery will be charged again to post the item back to you.

BFPO Delivery

The British Forces Post Office (or British Field Post Office) (BFPO) is an agency that provides a postal service to HM Forces, separate from that provided by Royal Mail. BFPO addresses are used for the delivery of mail in the UK and around the world.

The BFPO has strict size restrictions on packages delivered through their network. As a result we are unable to deliver bikes and bulky items to BFPO addresses.

In order to place an order online for delivery to a BFPO address please enter your registered card address in the billing address fields.

VAT

Please note that we cannot deduct VAT from BFPO orders, as the items are delivered to an address within the UK (BFPO handling office) for onward delivery

Bicycle assembly and delivery

One area that sets us apart from our competitors is the effort we go to in order to ensure your bike reaches you in a safe and secure condition with only minor assembly before you can hit the road or the trail.

This is How we Receive Bikes From the Manufacturers

When your bike arrives at globalbike.co.uk it is still along way from being ready to ride. The bikes arrive flat packed for ease of transport from the factory.

It can sometimes be hard to see where the packaging ends and the bike begins!

BEWARE! Many online retailers will simply ship the bike to you in this flat packed state requiring you to fully assemble the bike at home. This is time consuming and challenging, especially if you don’t have the specialist tools and skills to do the job.  BBC's Watchdog highlighted this problem - see their show.

Comprehensive assembly is a STANDARD SERVICE on all bikes purchased at globalbike.co.uk.

For your convenience, comfort and safety ALL bikes purchased from globalbike.co.uk are fully assembled and tested by one of our qualified mechanics prior to being dispatched.

During the assembly process the forks, wheels, seat-post and components are fitted. Gears and brakes are adjusted (disc brakes bled if necessary), wheels are trued, tyres pumped up and all nuts and bolts tightened.

If you have purchased any accessories, they will be fitted to the bike FREE of charge at this point (just notify us at the time of ordering).

In order to safely package and ship the bike to you we then turn the handlebars 90 degrees and remove the pedals from the bike.

This is how You Will Receive Your Bike

The bike is then placed in one of our custom oversize bike boxes ready for collection by our courier.

When the bike is delivered all you need to do is to turn the handlebars around and attach the pedals. Full instructions, a multi-tool and 15mm pedal spanner are included free of charge. Follow the simple instructions carefully and your bike will be ready to ride within minutes of landing on your doorstep.

Children’s bikes

Because the safety of your young child is of paramount importance, all children’s bikes fitted with stabilisers are shipped to you fully assembled with no home assembly required at all!

These bikes are assembled by the same Cytech qualified mechanics that assemble our adult bikes.

Children’s bikes are packaged in our custom over-sized kids bike boxes for safe and secure delivery direct to your door.

BMX stunt pegs

In order to accommodate BMX bikes into our delivery boxes, any BMX bikes fitted with stunt pegs will have the pegs removed and packaged separately. Customers will be required to fit these upon receipt of their bike, the tools you will require are a Ratchet with an extension bar and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm socket (please note tools are not supplied).

International bike orders

Due to size restrictions on international shipping, international bike orders will be shipped in a partly assembled state. Bikes are still built and tested prior to being packaged ready for shipment.

Returns Policy

Thank you for shopping with globalbike.co.uk. Our priority is to ensure that you are highly satisfied with your purchase. In the unlikely event that you are not, please feel free to return your goods within 28 days of the purchase date for a full refund.

Any item (with the exception of food, videos and DVD’s) can be returned to us for any reason provided it is returned unused with its original packaging and a valid receipt. Due to the high incidence of fraud we regret that we are unable to offer any refund without a valid receipt.

Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment used for the original purchase. Credit and debit card refunds must be made to the card used for the original purchase. Due to banking restrictions cheque payments can only be refunded at least 14 days after the original purchase date.

Returning your purchase by post
To return your purchase by post call the returns department on 01829 495 055 stating whether you would like a refund, exchange or have a warranty issue. Please provide us with details of why you wish to return your purchase as your input is invaluable to us when reviewing the products we stock.  It is your responsibility to ensure that the item is returned to us in a safe and secure manner, and in the event of a refund or exchange, in saleable condition (in original packaging and including all warranty cards, manuals and accessories).

Returning bicycles and bulky objects

If you wish to return bulky objects such as a bicycle, fork or turbo trainer, please call the Returns Department on 01829 495 055 or email whoops@globalbike.co.uk to arrange a special courier collection.

Please Note: A charge will be incurred for this service (except where the goods are damaged or faulty)

Returning your purchase to our store
Simply take your purchase and original receipt into our store. Staff will issue a refund on the spot, or you can browse our store and exchange your purchase for an alternative product.
As with postal returns, store returns must be made within 28 days, refunds will be processed using the original payment method, and the goods must be returned in original packaging with all warranty cards, manuals and accessories.

Finance & Ride2Work returns
If your purchase was either paid for with the online finance option or was made through the Ride2Work programme please call the Returns Department 01829 495 055 or email whoops@globalbike.co.uk prior to returning your goods.

Potential warranty returns
On receipt of your goods, if you feel they are faulty, please call our Returns department on 01829 495 055 to obtain a warranty returns number.  If you do not have a returns number this will delay the warranty inspection and possible warranty claim on your goods. On receipt of your goods we will carry out a warranty inspection and will contact you within 3 working days of receipt.
If your purchase is outside our 28 day returns period but within the manufacturers warranty period we will repair or replace the item(s) as stated in the manufacturers warranty guidelines.

Please Note: In some cases the manufacturer/ supplier may require to see the item(s) before repair or replacement can take place. If this is the case we will inform you. Proof of purchase is also required with all potential warranty claims.

Your Statutory Rights
Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights, full details of which can be obtained from any Trading Standards Department or Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
