NS Bikes Fuzz 2 Suspension Bike 2015
NS aren’t known for clever sounding acronym’s and obscure statistics, they just produce excellent bikes which are designed and refined with their riders. The new 2015 NS Fuzz 2 is one mean looking bike that features some serious updates over last years model.
The NS Fuzz 2 is constructed from a combination of 6061 and 6066 aluminum, with reinforced areas to provide the best combination of weight and strength. The suspension uses chunky, solid bearings to cope with the abuse the bike is expected to experience. The linkage is a horst link design, with a rearward axle path that copes well with square edged hits, and has good anti squat properties.
The big change for 2015 is the move from 26” to 27.5” wheels, which the NS riders certainly felt faster on! Other updates include a dropped BB and longer rear triangle. The rear shock hold considerable weight and as a result of placing it low the NS Fuzz 2 is planted and stable.
With NS you can expect a fun bike so the NS Fuzz 2 isn’t just a race day weapon, its great for park riding and general trail smashing too!
The NS Fuzz 2 may have a fairly entry-level price for a DH bike its looks, components and performance all suggest otherwise! The NS Fuzz 2 comes equipped with Rockshox’s Kage R shock, a smooth coil shock offering 206mm of travel. At the front is Marzocchi’s 888 fork CR fork which again is plush and sensitive, providing 200mm of travel.
9-speed gearing is ideally suited for the job, with a 11-34t cassette, and a 36t chainring on the Ruktion cranks. With an X5 and X7 shifter and rear mech you get strong value and quality shifts.
DH bikes require strong wheels, therefore NS use their own Fundamental rims and hubs, and case them in bulky, hugely grippy Maxxis HighRoller tyres. Avid DB5 brakes, with 200mm rotors front and rear provide large amounts of stopping power, helped by the tyres soft compound.
The seatpost and saddle are from quality manufacturer Octane One, a big name in the DJ/BMX market. NS supply their own 40mm stem and 800mm bars, a modern cockpit design that looks great too thanks to the custom gold graphics! The matte black/grey frame gives a stealthy look but with NS’s trademark bright colour flourishes the NS Fuzz 2 still stands out from the crowd!
