What Mountain Bike 4*

Best For Racing

Like most Italian shoes, these Northwaves are relatively narrow, particularly at the toe. The tall, stiff collar rubbing on the ankle irritated some of our testers too. If they fit, though, the mid-weight insulation, Gore-Tex liner and high, well sealed cuff provide decent weather protection.

The sole is impressively stiff for a winter boot too, making these a top choice for competitive riders. The easy clearing, open tread pattern can also take toe studs for extra grip. The cord-lock lacing system is hidden under a splash flap to keep it clean.

In all, a well made several season investment

  1. WOW

Wish that I had bought a pair of these years ago instead of messing about with summer shoes and different overshoes. These will make my winter training so much more comfortable.Only one minor moan, unlike all the other types of shoes that I have had over the years, the cleats were not supplied.
